Thank you so much PETstock!

A big thank you to PETstock Constellation Drive!

Since it opened in Mairangi Bay it has been the go-to store for most of our animal supplies, so we were delighted when the management invited us to hold an ‘Adoption and Awareness Day’ at their premises.

Armed with flyers and posters of our many homeless dogs, cats, rabbits, hedgehogs and chickens - and with our sweet young rescue dog Vernie representing them - we spent many happy hours with their friendly customers. Although he was cuddled, tummy-rubbed and loved by shoppers of all ages, no-one offered beautiful big Vernie the home he so needs. Click here to learn more about Vernie.

We are so grateful to our brilliant volunteers Imogen, Maggie, Onjoli and Gemma for making the day such a success!

Waddles finally has a loving home

Don’t you love a happy ending?

Noon Nye is a shy little Maltese who began her life as a potential breeding dog. After several years without conceiving, her owners discarded this frail dog - along with the neglected male. A kind woman took them both so they wouldn’t fall into another bad situation. The little boy was adopted by a family member and Noon Nye went to a temporary home where her health, veterinary needs and spaying were lovingly taken care of.

When we were asked to find Noon Nye a new home, Beryl and Pete agreed to foster her for us. Within a fortnight they had fallen in love and asked if they could adopt her. We weren’t surprised because three of the cats they previously fostered also became permanent family members.

Noon Nye was immediately renamed Waddles due to her unusual gait – and she lives happily with canine companion Dino and the cats. A recent visit left us feeling so grateful and joyful that this dear little girl finally has the life she deserves – a life full of walks, cuddles, nourishment, company and most importantly - an abundance of love.

Please sign this petition to stop animal abuse

Please... sign now and share widely. Thank you so much.

Australian animals have not only suffered the torturous journey called "Live Export", but they have also suffered brutal treatment and deaths that would be totally illegal if they occurred on Australian soil.

That innocent animals are butchered for human consumption is horrific enough, but when they are also tortured by barbaric killing methods, decent people must raise their voices to stop it. Thank you for taking action!

Handsome Humphrey is safe with us

We are so happy!

Handsome Humphrey is now safely in our care. Yesterday we realised just how lonely he has been when he started running to follow us across a very busy road after we fed him. We went back and sat with him for awhile and sneaked away when he wasn't looking.

We returned today and caught him without any stress. We took Humphrey straight to a vet to get an accurate weight and have given him his first worm and legmite treatments. HIs poor legs are very encrusted and are inflamed where they meet his tummy.

This gentle boy will stay with us for four weeks while we get on top of the parasites.
