When we took Onyx to have his stitches out after 14 days, his surgeon told us the horrific wound needed more healing time.

So we took him back this Tuesday, after 21 days. Dr Andrea was able to remove the upper sutures, but sadly, the lower part of the wound needed to be debrided and re-stitched. Poor Onyx is on his third dose of antibiotics and his second dose of pain relief.

We so look forward to his lovely face healing and him starting a new life with his homeless dad.

Onyx and his dad are briefly reunited for a long, companionable walk. It was beautiful to see their faces light up and their stress levels plummet. Please, let's all get a van for them to live in.

To the point of exhaustion, we have tried to find accommodation for he and his dad, but have been disappointed at every turn... due to Onyx being a big boy at 37kg.

Tomorrow, Onyx will be sedated and have his stitches removed. He needs to urgently be reunited with his dad, as neither of them are coping without one another. Due to his crying, Onyx can no longer remain in our care. Please read the urgency in our fundraiser below, and help us to buy a van for them to live in as quickly as possible.
