Lovely Jaz needs a retirement home with plenty of company

Jaz is a beautiful Border Collie x Staffy who came into our care when her family left the country. She is 8.5 years old and badly needs a loving retirement home.

After always being confined to her former property, Jaz lights up when we take her for walks, is very affectionate and will be happiest in a home where she has human company for most of the day. This sweet girl is used to having free access in and out of a family home and clearly misses the attention, interaction and activity.

It’s heart-breaking to see Jaz sadden and to hear her whimpering when we return her to the boarding kennels. She is grieving for her family and her familiar lifestyle. Please think about adopting Jaz after we have given her a comprehensive vet check. Thank you.

All the best to our wonderful assistant & volunteer

Last night we enjoyed a farewell dinner with our part-time personal assistant and volunteer of two years.

Imogen has worked alongside Trustees, volunteers and our rescued animals with such loving dedication, skill and enthusiasm that we know her pursuit of a veterinary career will meet with resounding success. We are very sad to lose such a generous and valuable team member but, with her huge heart, we know animals will continue to benefit from her endeavours.

All the best with your relocation and continued studies Imogen - and thank you so much for your commitment and extensive input while you were with us. You have been richly appreciated!

We look forward to seeing you again on your return visits to Auckland.

Our clever boy won prizes at the dog show

We couldn't be more proud of Pablo and his volunteer handlers Angie and Donna! Although it was a huge arena at the Easter Show with lots of dogs, people and strange sounds; our boy was calm and happy.

He won a spot prize for "Most Handsome Male" and Animal Behaviourist Jess, from Kiwi Vet Behaviour, said he was the "Best Behaved Dog". Aww Pablo!

Thank you so much to ARAN Animal Rescue NZ for inviting us to take part in this event. Now we wait for adoption applications to come in for him. Paws crossed!

If you are going to the Easter Show on Monday (17th) and would like to meet Pablo (pictured below), he will be at the ARAN Animal Rescue NZ's dog adoption and show event from 10.30am - 12noon.

Paws crossed we will find his perfect applicant there!
