PLEASE MAKE A CHRISTMAS DONATION

******* AND PLEASE SHARE *******

This time last year PETstock in Glen Innes kindly ran an in-store fundraising day which provided $600 for our charity. The staff members were amazing and we were so grateful to the public for their generosity.

Awesome Santa Claus turned up with his dog Matty and over 50 other lucky dogs were photographed with him. Thank you so much for organizing for Santa to be there Patrick Kuhtze, and we were also delighted that animal lover Suzanne Paul helped out on the day.

If we are careful with our spending, the current annual cost to run our charity is $95K - $100K. Please help us to continue rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing animals in strife in 2022.

Donations may be made to:

1). Givealittle: https://givealittle.co.nz/org/animalrehoming (Automatic receipt)

2). Charity Bank Account:
ASB Account number: 12 3059 0650626 00
(Please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so we can send you a receipt at the end of the financial year).

Thank you so much everyone, for your support during 2021. All the best for the festive and holiday season and the coming new year. ?

SCOTTIE IS MISSING FROM DAIRY FLAT. PLEASE SHARE

Someone must know where friendly Scottie is. Please help us to find him by sharing this post widely.

We had just approved an ideal 12-acre home for this lovely Kunekune X (with two Kune girls for company) when he went missing from his foster home.

We pray that recently neutered Scottie is enjoying animal company on an adjoining rural property or exploring a bush area in the vicinity. He's a large animal to be on the loose, so someone must have seen this blended ginger and black pig. Flyers have been delivered to letterboxes, but we have had no responses.

If Scottie's on your land, or you have sighted him on rural East Coast Rd, Bawden Rd, Wilson Rd, Follies Way... or anywhere else, please let us know, so his new parents can welcome him to their lovely orchard area.

There is the possibility our boy has fallen into hands where he could be viewed as food. If anyone you know (in any wider Auckland location) has suddenly come into possession of a pig fitting Scottie's description, please contact us and alert them that he is a much loved companion animal who needs to immediately be returned to us.

We can be contacted here, by private message, by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or please leave a message on our landline number at (09) 479 1748.

See our previous two posts for more information, photos and a video of Scottie. Thank you.

SEEKING A SAFE HAVEN FOR SCOTTIE - PLEASE SHARE

Heartbreakingly, Scottie's family abandoned him when they left their property... and when new occupants moved in, one of them was planning to slaughter and eat this lovely boy. Fortunately the housemate saw things differently, so Scottie was rescued.

He is a 15-month-old, ginger and black Kunekune X Captain Cooker pig. We have now had him neutered, vaccinated and wormed in preparation for his new home. After his booster shot, Scottie will be ready for immediate adoption.

Pigs are as smart as dogs and 3-year-old humans and they can live for 15-20 years. Scottie is likely to root up the soil with his snout and he will need grass, shelter, daily food and water, a wallow to bathe in and sturdy fencing to keep him contained.

Applicants must be committed to caring for Scottie as a companion animal for the length of his natural lifespan. We are looking for an animal sanctuary or a rural home where he will enjoy human (and/or animal) interaction and have a happy and comfortable life. We are looking forward to meeting his new family, following his progress and visiting him 2-3 times per year.

If you are able to offer Scottie a peaceful life where he is loved and appreciated for simply being himself, we look forward to your application at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Scottie is currently living in Auckland.
Thank you.

KIND HEDGEHOG HOMES NEEDED

Introducing healthy, handsome Sam. This big boy has been in our care for several months while recovering from mange, a maggot infestation, dehydration and starvation.

When he has lost a bit of weight and has become accustomed to outdoor temperatures, he will soon be going to a private home to safely live out his natural lifespan.

Please apply to adopt a recovered hedgehog if you are able to offer a fully fenced environment with ground level fencing and gates, no slug, snail or rodent poisons, and no animals who would harm him/her. You will need to provide appropriate hedgehog housing and daily food/water. Thank you.

We look forward to hearing from you at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
