Roosters: Four Friends

It was very special to release these young fellows next to a Ruawai barn where the farmer takes great delight in throwing them feed each day.

ORIGINAL ADVERT: FOUR DUMPED ROOSTERS FRIENDS NEED AN APPRECIATIVE HOME

When so-called caregivers abandon their unwanted, domesticated roosters on the roadside, in the bush or in public parks, they expect them to miraculously survive in unprotected surroundings. Instead they endure freezing or humid temperatures without shelter, without food and without protection from traffic, dogs or predatory humans. Very few of them stay alive and many of them suffer starvation, injury, attacks and illness. Chickens are no exception.

The four friends pictured are now in temporary care and their thin bodies are filling out. However, their pen is required, so they need a permanent home ASAP. Please let me know if you are able to offer them a haven which is safe from roaming dogs, where they are fed regularly and where they may shelter in a coop or in suitably protective trees.
