URGENT: SENIOR CAT HAS LOST HER SENIOR CAREGIVER
When Great Aunty Mavis passed away two weeks ago, her beloved tabby cat, Cleo, was
mentioned at her funeral and in the obituaries. They were a closely bonded pair
and now Cleo is left without anyone to care for her. No-one in Mavis’s extended
family or their circle of friends has a suitable situation for this lovely cat who
has only known the lady who cared for her since she was a little kitten 12-13 years
ago.
Cleo has been living alone at Mavis’s property the past 3 weeks, coming and going
through the cat door with a kind neighbour feeding her each day.
She has been used to a very quiet life, so I am looking for a similar situation
for her on a street without much traffic. It would be ideal if a calm couple or
a single person comes forward to adopt her. Mavis’s house is about to go on the
market, so an understanding home is sought before the property maintenance and spring
clean begins.
Applicants would need to be prepared for Cleo to be mourning the loss of her companion
and to be afraid of new situations. They would also need to patiently wait for Cleo
to bond with them in her own time while she is kept strictly indoors for a settling
period of about 4 weeks. I look forward to securing a happy retirement for this
dear cat. Please contact me if you think you may be able to meet Cleo’s needs at
this sad time...
MR PERSONALITY PLUS (Mr P)
This very cute 7-month-old kitten is a little shy when he first meets a stranger,
but he loves human interaction and is absolutely special.
He’s the kind of companion who leaps onto your lap while you go to the toilet, climbs
into your trouser leg and helps you wash the laundry. He plays with your hair, puts
his little nose right up your nostrils and into your ear holes. He becomes so ecstatic
when he is being petted that his ready purr becomes metallic sounding squeaks of
delight. He smooches against the dog, follows my feet from room to room, chases
a string with passion and plays boisterously with his siblings.
Mr P is gregarious and is up close & personal...but be warned, he will explore your
household inch by playful inch. Toilet lids will need to be down, pot lids firmly
in place, delicate clothing safely in drawers. You will need to be very careful
to keep doors & windows firmly closed while he settles into your home environment.
Mr P is neutered, micro-chipped, fully vaccinated, flea & worm treated. He is expert
at using a litter tray and a pleasure to be with. If you are able to provide him
with plenty of loving touch and play and if your home is in a traffic safe area,
I very much look forward to hearing from you. Any children in the family would need
to be gentle and at least school age. Thank you.
CUDDLY RUSSIAN BLUE X CAT SEEKS EQUALLY CUDDLY CAREGIVERS
Affectionate 6-year-old Ash has recently had an abscess repaired at the base of
her tail and her teeth have been de-scaled and polished. Her previous caregivers
advised the vet clinic that they couldn’t take her back because they could no longer
afford the upkeep of their many cats.
Ash had been encouraged to live outdoors at her last home and, although she made
repeated attempts to go inside, she was nervous about entering the house with so
many other felines defending territory - so it would be ideal if she could be Queen
of her Castle in her adoptive home. However, she may live compatibly with an accepting
resident cat.
Ash loves human company and would ideally be an indoor & outdoor house pet with
no other animals.
She smooches with vigour and she plays with gusto, so she would best suit an adult
home, so that little fingers don’t get playfully nipped or scratched. She loves
to play with a string!
Ash is spayed and I have had her vaccinated, micro-chipped and flea & worm treated
in preparation for her adoption If you have a suitably traffic-safe home and plenty
of love and time to stroke this friendly girl, please contact me.
I look forward to your application with thanks.
THREE LOVELY KITTENS ARE READY FOR THEIR HOMES
When an extremely timid, homeless cat birthed her kittens in West Auckland, everyone
knew it was the beginning of another hungry stray cat population. They were all
trapped and the kittens were taken into one of my fosterer’s care until they were
big enough to be de-sexed and adopted.
The mother was spayed and returned to the environment she knows...with a kind resident
feeding her for the rest of her life.
The kittens are now with me and are beautiful, healthy, social and affectionate
babies. They are just 5-months-old and have been de-sexed, micro-chipped, double
vaccinated, double wormed and treated for fleas.
Much as I delight in their playfulness and their spontaneous displays of love, I
need to make space for incoming rescue animals – so – Blackie Black (pure black,
gentle & muscular boy), Sweetie Pie (blended Tortishell, petite & busy girl) and
Ceddy-Ric (black & white, cuddly & mischievous boy) are ready for the right home(s).
If you live on a very quiet street or a very long driveway, if there are no cat-chasing
dogs in your area and if your children are 6 years or older, I look forward to your
applications. They may be adopted as a trio, as a duo or singularly. Because they
are such loving kittens, priority will be given to applicants who have time to spend
with them.Thank you.
PRETTY TEENAGE CATS, TOPSY & TURVY, MUST STAY TOGETHER
I was contacted in February, when these lovely 14-month-old sister cats were abandoned
in an Auckland city apartment building along with a Bichon Fris dog. Fortunately
the landlord found them within two days. See media article click here...
Because they have lived in confinement until now, the successful applicant would
need to be prepared to settle these cats into one room at first and gradually open
up the rest of the house to them over a number of weeks. Ideally their introduction
to the great outdoors would not take place until about 3 months had passed. At first,
litter trays would need to be generously placed. Both cats are affectionate and
full of purrs when they get to know and interact with new people. They would suit
a quiet, pet-free, adult home or one with gentle older children.
Topsy and Turvy have now been vet checked, spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, nail-clipped,
flea and worm treated. Their anal glands have been emptied and their teeth are in
good condition. They are now ready for their permanent home.
If you are able to offer these sweet natured girls a loving, patient, stress-free
home and if you live in a street with low traffic volume, I welcome your application.
Topsy and Turvy are currently staying at a boarding cattery and after such upheaval,
they deserve a very happy future.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
BEAUTIFUL CAT SEEKS AN ATTENTIVE HOME
There is no doubt that 3-year-old Sean is a very loved and well cared for cat. However,
now that the landlord has upgraded the rental property, Sean is banned from going
into the house.
His caregiver finds this very distressing and wishes to find a home where Sean can
be safely locked indoors during the hours of darkness and come and go as he wishes
during the day.
Sean is initially shy of new people until trust is established – then he bonds closely
and becomes playful and cuddly. This big handsome boy needs a home where he will
have gentle company and attention in a quiet environment. It would be ideal if he
was the only pet.
Sean is neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, flea and worm treated and his teeth
are in good order. He is fully toilet trained and was experienced at using a litter
tray before he was made to live permanently outdoors.
If you are able to offer Sean a kind home with low traffic volume and plenty of
loving care, I very much look forward to your application. Thank you.
